5B Suicide Prevention Alliance
Building Strength & Resilience
Building culture of awareness, understanding, acceptance, and action around mental-well being
We began in 2017 as a volunteer collective of over 25 Blaine County community members and organizations working together to prevent suicide and normalize conversations about mental health in our community. We are driven by the guiding principle that suicide prevention is a collaborative, community effort that requires action! Suicide remains a leading cause of death in Idaho (cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/states/Idaho/id.htm)
The 5B Alliance continues to serve our community today under the fiscal sponsorship of the Crisis Hotline, thanks to some funding in 2023 from Blaine County and St. Luke’s Center for Community Health. As part of our work to continue bringing the change, the Alliance actively offers:
- FREE Education & Outreach workshops, #bethe1to (National campaign) & Sources of Strength (collaboratively with the Blaine County School District)
- Lethal Means Reduction Campaign
- Postvention - Community Loss Support
Please join us in our efforts to create a common language, connect people to helping resources, and ultimately end suicides in our community.
Your contribution will make a difference. By joining forces, we can demonstrate the importance of the Alliance's work and advocate long-term, sustainable funding for this critical program.
Together, let's build a community where everyone feels hopeful & supported.
